Join us at the real Forks High School June 25-28, 2009 for the only literary symposium, anywhere, dedicated to Stephenie Meyer's Twilight Saga.

We welcome scholars, educators, and fans of all origins to join us June 25-28, 2009 at the real Forks High School where we will explore the mythology and folklore buried in Stephenie Meyer's novels. Anyone who wishes to deepen their knowledge of and increase their appreciation for the books, explore the novels' influence on our culture, or just enjoy one of the most quickly-growing fan followings around will find a home at SSIF. By combining elements of an academic conference and a fan convention, SSIF will offer an opportunity to investigate, deconstruct, discuss, debate and celebrate these novels in the company of fellow enthusiasts.

SSIF is the only unofficial literary symposium for the Twilight Saga.
The event will feature:

  • A Twilight movie viewing
  • A Twilight movie riffing
  • Two live podcasts with The Bloodsuckers aka The Girls Necks Door
  • An actual, REAL Prom in the Forks High Gym featuring performances by three of the original and premiere Twilight bands:

The Bella Cullen Project, Bella Rocks! and The Mitch Hansen Band

  • The crowning of the SSIF Prom King and Queen
  • Dozens of breakout sessions
  • Keynote addresses featuring:

Larry Carroll of MTV's Twilight Tuesdays
&
Kaleb Nation of Twilightguy.com
&
The Hillywood Show Players
&
Ilyana Kadushin: The voice of the Twi audio books

  • Twilight vendors galore
  • A Twilight Arts and Crafts Display
  • A "Field Trip" to a bonfire at First Beach in La Push
  • An Auction benefitting Forks High School
  • An Orientation Dinner with Forks' real "Chief Swan"
  • The first ever "Bella Swan Memorial Volleyball Tournament"
  • Edward, Jacob, and Switzerland "Chill out Rooms"
  • Viewings of movies whose books influenced SM's writing

Where better to celebrate Twilight than in the actual town in which the stories are set?

Registration is now open! Come join us!
